![]() These came from Main Electronics in BC (Canada) at about $3 each, but maybe the ones from MAT are similar? I'm looking for a good glue to use (lots of archive info here), and will try Elmers, Weldbond, and some other craft type glues on a few other speakers first, then get back to these. Using calipers to measure it, it now measures like the original surrounds. I did this with one surround to try it out and it seems to fit in just fine - I haven't glued it yet though. To fit perfectly they need to be trimmed a little on the inside (~2 mm) and outside (~3 mm). I have generic 10" surrounds that have the exact same roll dimension as the original Advents and the roll location is correct too. I think the older masonite edged woofers are the other way around, glued under the masonite ring, and to the front of the cone, roll going inwards (concave). The surround is also glued to the front of the frame (no other way really). The original foams, at least on the 4 I have, are glued under the cone and the roll goes outside (convex), like most other speakers. ![]() ![]() I'm on my way there - 4 Advent woofers, all metal framed versions, to be refoamed.
